Straight Stairlifts are the most affordable type because they are the simplest to manufacture and install. That’s because they use a standard straight stairlift rail, which only needs cutting to the correct length. A straight stairlift can only be installed on a straight flight of stairs which has no bends or turns along its length. Straight staircases are often quite narrow, but stairlifts are designed with this in mind.

Curved Stairlifts
If your stairs move through bends or turns anywhere along their length, then you’ll probably need a Curved Stairlift.
